Water Extinguisher

Water : Water Extinguishers are for Class A fires only. They should not be used on Class B or Class C fires. The discharge stream could spread the flammable liquid in a Class B fire or could create a shock hazard in case of Class C fire.

Aqueous Film Forming Foam Extinguishers

Foam (AFFF) : Foam (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) Extinguishers can be used for Class A and Class B fires only. They cannot be used on Class C, since they could create shock hazards.

Dry Chemical Powder (ABC) : Dry chemical powder Extinguishers extinguish fire by interrupting the chemical reaction between the three elements (oxygen, heat and fuel). This type of extinguisher is most widely used since it is effective on Class A, B and C fires.

Carbon Di Oxide Extinguishers

Carbon Di-Oxide : Carbon Di-Oxide extinguishers extinguish fire by removing the oxygen element and the heat element with a very cold discharge. They can be used on Class B, C and E fires. They are ineffective on Class A and D fires.
