- Silvery-white hard, malleable, and ductile metal
- It is a fairly good conductor of heat and electricity
- Dissolves slowly in dilute acids but, like iron, becomes passive when treated with nitric acid
- Finely divided nickel adsorbs hydrogen
- Nickel metal have good ferromagnetic
