LeakTector is a portable gas or steam leak detector, designed for periodical survey of steam traps and valves. This ultrasound based  leak detector  detects abnormal vibrations on rotary machines, as well.

This ultrasound is captured and analyzed by the Leaktector microprocessor and finally shown its result on the LCD display, wrist mounted. The system is integrated by two components: probe and analyzer.

A novelty of LeakTector is its special verification function of thermodynamic steam traps, allowing the evaluation of the low energetic efficiency states (cycle too short) of this type of steam traps.

The concept of leak monitoring of valves and traps may be new to industries in India, but the losses and the financial impact is true universally.

Liquid Level Gauges

These are mechanical devices to observe the level of liquid in vessels. Based on  principles of Liquid finding their own levels.UKL manufactures and supplies level gauges as complete assembly with Isolation Drain cocks and vent valves, Safety Ball check arrangement in case of Glass breakage, and original toughened Borosilicate Klinger Glasses and Gaskets.

Reflex Gauge: 

Works on the principle of Total Internal Refraction of light through the Reflex glass having grooves giving clear Black and white indication of the level in the vessel. For Steam at 40 bar saturated temp, and other media 40 bar 400 Deg C.

Transparent type: 

Using Transparent glasses, two in numbers, giving a level indication in the form of rising and falling meniscus. This often requires the use of Illuminators to view the level.Steam at 40 bar.85bar and 120Bar saturated temp. Other media 400 deg C.

Bicolor type: 

A variation of the transparent type, wherein the incident light is made to pass through a wedge shaped centerpiece, to separate the light. The same is viewed through filters to see Green and Red light for Steam and Condensate.Steam: 180 Bar Saturated Temp.

The level gauges can be provided with accessories like double arm lever, Illuminators, Scales, and Non Frosting Blocks. Inclined type as well as Direct Weld – On type.

Deaerator Head

Air acts as an oxidizing agent and causes corrosion and weakening leading to damage and leakage in pipes and related equipment. In Boilers it can cause serious accidents.

Air gets in the system mainly through Boiler Feed water. The harmful element in Air is Oxygen, and De Aeration essentially involves removal of Oxygen. This is done by heating the water in the De-aerator Head (DAH) to 90Deg C when Bulk of the Oxygen is eliminated. [Ideally at 102-105Deg C, Oxygen is almost totally eliminated] when the bulk of Oxygen is released from the Hot water.

De-Aerator is a dome shaped device [called the mixing unit] fitted to the Feed Water Tank, having three Nozzles for Cold Make up Water, Recovered and recycled hot condensate and Flash Steam. It also has a top vent nozzle with automatic thermostatic vent. The three nozzles result in mixing of the three fluids, consequently heating the water and the Oxygen thus released is vented out from the top. A SS dip/Immersion tube with perforations attached to the De Aerator is led into the tank up to near to the tank bottom, releasing hot water through perforation from the bottom level of water helps the mixing of the heated water from the De Aerator Head and the water available in Feed water Tank, and supply hot water to boiler, saving Fuel costs, reducing O2 and avoiding Flashing and noise, and achieve higher levels of process efficiency.

Steam Injectors

Steam Injectors are used for heating Water, Feed water, Process media, process liquors etc by direct injection of steam into the media. They are designed for quiet and efficient heating of the media ensuring thorough mixing, uniform heating and absence of temperature stratification.

It draws in cool liquid from one end and mixes it with the steam being injected. These ensure full utilization of the total heat as well as avoid Flashing and noise.

Pressured Power Pump Unit

In these days of energy conservation hot condensate is too valuable to be lost as it contains more than 25% of heat used in creating steam. Flash Vessels

Condensate when discharged from higher pressure to lower pressure, the difference in the sensible heats at the two pressures causes certain amount of Condensate to again convert to Steam known and referred to as Flash Steam. This is as good as dry steam, albeit at lower pressure, and can be utilized as such.This separation can be done by allowing the hot condensate to discharge into a vessel of a pre determined volume, to get the desired amount of condensate and Flash at a specific pressure. This vessel is known as a Flash vessel.

Pressure Reducing Station

Steam should be distributed at high pressure as it has low volume and impacts the inventory and its cost. At the same time it should be used at low pressure, as it has high latent heat at low pressure .Thus the function of lowering the pressure at the point of use is done by the PRS [Pressure Reducing Station]

This is done by a number of individual components arranged in a modular form called as a station.

Sight Glass

The most common application is flow indication. The Sight Glass is fitted in the pipeline to indicate if the fluid is flowing correctly in the line. These can therefore be used to indicate blocked or choked valves or Traps, strainers, pipelines or piping components which otherwise would lead to a decreased level of performance, plant efficiency and safety.

The sight glasses would indicate if the traps are leaking or passing live steam/vapors.A sight Flow Indicator is a device which is inserted in a run of pipe to observe the flow of fluid in the pipe. To enhance the visibility of the flow, protrusion is often incorporated body of its indicator, in the flow stream, so that fluid impinging on the same, cause turbulence, which indicates flow.

This enables one to on observing the working of traps and other equipments by giving a clear view of the inside using toughened Borosilicate original Klinger sight glasses.

Moisture Separators

Removal of Moisture becomes essential from gases and Steam as it cause of two phase flow, water hammer, damage to equipments, as well as it affects heat transfer, total heat carrying capacity of the fluid in case of steam.

For effective separation of moisture from Steam Air and other gases, is the uniquely designed Baffle type of separator. In this separator the incoming fluid hit the baffle and the changing contour and resulting in expanding of volume, moisture gets deposited on the cool Baffle plates to be drained by the natural inclined inner profile of the  separator, whereas the Steam / gas gets around the Baffle and out sans moisture, ensuring 95% efficiency, and longer life of equipment.

Air Eliminators

UKL Air Eliminators are meant to automatically remove air from Liquid lines.Air has to be removed because: air in liquid line cause of two phase flow, water hammering as well as prevents smooth flow of fluid or causes air locks.Air also acts as an oxidizing agent and causes corrosion and weakening leading to damage and leakage in pipes and related equipment.

Solubility of air in water is high at low temp, but on heating solubility decreases, and release air from water and flows with water. Mainly this happens in cooling water circuit.

Function of Air elimination can be achieved by a mechanical Float operated Trap, with juxt a position change of its Float assembly.

This change in the float assembly position now holds back the liquid but allows Air to be vented out as against the normal Float trap holding steam and discharging condensate.

Air Vent And Air Vent Assembly

UKL Air vents and assemblies are meant to automatically remove air from steam spaces.Air has to be removed because, Air acts as an insulator and severely hampers / restricts heat transfer.Air acts as an oxidizing agent and causes corrosion and weakening leading to damage and leakage in pipes and related equipment. In Boilers it can cause serious accidents.Air gets in the system through Boiler Feed water, at times through process related matters.

Also when steam condenses in long stoppages, in pipelines its volume shrinks tremendously causing a partial vacuum thus drawing in Air in the system from the atmosphere.

Air tends to accumulate towards the top/highest point, around changes in elevation / direction of pipes as also near Dead ends. So it is necessary to have Air vents at these points to vent the accumulated air and prevent any mal-effect on the system.

Removal of Air/O2 is achieved by mounting an Automatic Air vent in the form of a Thermostatic Trap, which in this case traps Steam but relieves Air automatically.

The Air vent assembly provided with Isolation valve, Air collecting Bottle and Temp/Pressure Gauge.

Manifolds

Steam distribution manifolds facilitate the distribution of steam to various user points, through Forged units with inbuilt Piston valves. Similarly condensate from these points can be collected through the condensate collection manifolds, consisting of trap with associated isolation and by-pass piston valves. Available in basic configurations of 4 stations/tracing lines, and multiples of 4 stations i.e.8, 12 and 16 tracing lines.

A standard steam distribution Manifold would consist of a  Manifold with Strainer, Isolation Piston valve at the Inlet at the top and a Trap valve station at the bottom drain point.

 

A standard Condensate collection Manifold would consist of a  Manifold with Intelligent Trap valve stations at the individual tracing lines.

Pressure rating PN50. MOC: Forged CS to A105, supplied as Standalone units or Complete with inlet valve and trap assembly at the bottom [Steam Distribution] and complete Trap assembly [Condensate collection].

A very effective way of distribution and collection allowing a clean environment devoid of cluster of pipes and equipments. Aesthetic appearance for the Plant, Easy identification and access to individual components in case of maintenance.

Adequate length and pitch of Manifolds ensure multiple racing lines can be joined/welded to the manifold without interference of any kind between individual lines above. As against compact length and pitch which causes interference and necessitates accommodating bends to avoid the interference and which is contra indicated.

Intelligent Trap Valve Station

The function of any Steam Trap is to discharge Condensate and Trap Steam. Therefore in any Process plant, a Trap is always accompanied by a Isolation valve for isolation to maintain/repair the trap and a Bypass valve to let out the condensate uninterrupted while the trap is being maintained. This was available in the form of a Trap Module, involving Pipes, valves Traps and Flanges etc. This entailed Adequate Inventory carrying, Fabrication facilities, testing facilities to check the integrity of the assembly. Not to speak of the time factor.
All this was eliminated by incorporating all these features in a single compact Forged Unit. As a  Uni Klinger Intelligent Trap Valve Station[ITVS].

Trap Modules

UKL Trap Modules are available in two versions:

The open loop: Where the condensate is let out to the atmosphere, and consists mainly of one inlet Isolation, Bypass valves and a Steam Trap.

The Closed loop: Where the condensate connected for recovery, consist with Valves upstream and downstream isolation and Bypass, Strainer (for Ball Float), Steam Traps, Sight Glass, Non-return valve, Sight Glass, diffusers (for TD trap) etc.

Available in Carbon Steel, Stainless steel construction.

Bi Metallic Bi Thermostatic Trap

UKL Introduces the Bi-Thermostatic Bimetallic steam traps, with corrosion resistant regulator. These Traps are unaffected by water hammer and superheated steam which having balanced pressure valve, independent seat and cone valve, and having a external adjustment device that can be used while the trap is functioning, for temperature and flow discharge. The trap also has an integral Y type Strainer.

 

The most innovative of the bimetallic steam traps is the bi-thermostatic steam trap of balanced pressure that incorporates two antagonistic [Opposing] thermostats.

The thermostat on top consists of various bimetallic plate pairs guided by the plugs stem, and the Lower thermostat is formed by one bimetallic sheet that leans and is guided in its edges by the body of the steam trap.

The superior [Upper] thermostat expands with the increase in temperature pressing the plug in the closing direction; at the same time, the inferior [lower] thermostat arches itself allowing the movement of the valve in the same direction, effectively resulting in the progressive strangulation of the condensate flow, till it reaches its complete closure.When the condensate temperature decreases the thermostats act inversely, consequently offering a large flow section.

Inverted Bucket Traps

Steam used for secondary heating like Coils, vessels, heat exchangers etc, generate a lot of condensate post heat transfer. This large quantity condensate can handle by the Inverted Bucket Trap.This condensate has a substantial heat component with cost tagged to it. Also this is treated and pure water and can be used as Feed water for the Boiler, saving the cost of heating, Water Bill and Treatment chemicals.

Therefore it makes sense to recycle / reuse this condensate. This function is also done by the Inverted Bucket Trap, which works on the principle of Buoyancy, [densities difference of Water and Steam].The rising in condensate level fills and envelopes the Bucket causing it to sink which open the mechanically linked valve and discharges the condensate, and reverse,   when the level of condensate drops Steam enters the bucket, causes the flotation of the Bucket which close the valve and stops condensate discharge & traps the steam.

Thermostatic Steam Traps

This trap works on the difference in Enthalpy of Steam and Condensate. A capsule attached to a Bellow filled with precise amount of a Hydrocarbon, Expands and contracts in response to the rising/lowering of Enthalpy. Thereby shutting and opening the valve. Condensate has lower Enthalpy, causing the bellow to contract and the seat to retract which opens the valve and allow discharge of condensate. The reverse happens with the steam and its higher Enthalpy.

Thermodynamic Steam Traps

Steam has two components: 1] the latent heat useful in process for Heat transfer, and 2] the Sensible heat in the form of condensate having only the heat content not useful in process, rather hindering Heat transfer and causing damage to piping equipment due to its presence. Hence, there is need to remove condensate and trapped steam. This is done by Steam trap.

The Thermodynamic Trap works on the principle of difference in the velocities of Steam and Condensate. Used Mainly on Drip lines of the main steam distribution line, uses condensate pressure to open the trap and discharge the condensate and then the Flash steam formed due to the high flash steam velocity & accumulation of flash steam over disc, Device close and trap the live steam when it appears.

Thermodynamic Steam Trap are compact and lightweight and discharge condensate as and when it is formed.

Disc Check Valve

Piston Valves

Ring Joints

Ring Type Joints are widely used by the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Offshore Industries in applications subject to high pressures and temperatures.

These joints are designed to concentrate the bolt load over a small area thus producing high seating stresses.

As the ring type material should always be softer than the mating flanges, the high seating stress causes plastic flow of the ring joint in the flange faces creating the seal.All RTJs are manufactured according to ASME B16.20 and API6A standard.

Kammprofile Gasket

Kammprofile gaskets are recognized as a problem solver for heat exchangers, large vessels, and equipment that experience excessive movement due to thermal expansion. Kammprofile gaskets consist of a sealing core metal with or without guide ring. The sealing core is a solid metal gasket with concentric serrations on both sealing surfaces and faced with soft material such as flexible graphite, EPTFE configuration depending on operating conditions. It is the preferred design when needing improved performance at low seating stresses.

Spiral Wound Gasket

Uni Klinger manufactures spiral wound gaskets from 15mm to 3500mm ID as per international standards such as API601, ASME 16.20, ASME B16.47 A& B series, DIN, British standards, JIS etc.

Uni Klinger spiral wound gaskets are subjected to compressibility & recovery test as per IS 7719 & sealability test are conducted at ambient/elevated pressure & temperature.

Fillers used are Graphite, Asbestos & PTFE. Compressibility & Recovery test as per IS 7719 and sealibility test are conducted at ambient pressure and temperature.

Graphite Sheet

Due to excellent Chemical and thermal capabilities of Graphite it is used extensively throughout the Petrochemical and Chemical industries for process duties and Steam application.

It is a good solution for higher temperature and pressure application where Non Asbestos Gaskets are to be used.

Graphite Sheets are available as,

1. Pure Graphite sheets (GS) – A pure exfoliated graphite sheet for high temperature application.

2. Metallic Graphite sheets (GPSM) – A pure exfoliated graphite sheet with tanged Stainless Steel reinforcement for maximum pressure up to 200bar & 450 Degree Celsius temperature.

Pilot Operated Safety Valve

The SVP-7200 pilot operated pressure relief valves are able to operate at considerably higher set pressure than is possible with spring loaded safety relief valves, the valve operation and lift are unaffected by back-pressure.

The AST pilot operated safety relief valves are designed and manufactured according to 97/23/CE P.E.D. and ASME VIII, API527 requirement. They have passed several laboratories tests to obtain the conformance to the Pressure Equipment Directive, PED 97/23CE, accordingly to the product regulation EN ISO 4126-4 for use with gas, vapour and liquid. Many other homologations and approvals are available like ATEX, GOST R for Russia and others.

Different pilots characteristics are available like pop action or modulating, non- flowing or flowing on dependence of customer needs.

Safety Valve For Steam Boiler

The SMS-7100 direct spring operated pressure relief valves has been designed to protect against excess pressure steam boilers and to provide superior performance.

These valves are designed and manufactured according to 97/23/CE P.E.D. and ASME I and are approved according to 97/23/CE P.E.D. These valves have many other homologations and approvals; ATEX, AQSIQ for China, GOST R for Russia and others

Safety Relief Valve

Pressure Relief Valve Type–SV-200-LP, SV-200-MP, SV-200-HP & SV-300 

This product range is mainly used for Thermal Relief application but thanks to the certified coefficient of discharge for gas and liquid it can be used also for pressure relieving application. Types SV-200 covers the application where users have preference for screwed connection. These valves are available with inlet sizes from ½” to 1” and pressure from 0.8 Bar to 400 Bar for Gas & up to 1500 Bar for Liquid in various material combinations. Type SV-300 has flanged end connections with an integral casted body.
