Spring loaded failsafe hoist brakes, PETHE, AC operated, DAT model/type. These Failsafe spring loaded disc brakes is normally ON type and operates on AC supply. Foundation is not necessary as they are mounted directly on the non-driving end shaft of the motor. It consists of friction brake disc plate with liner on its both sides with square bore/hole at the centre. One corresponding piece of square hub is supplied with the brake. This hub is keyed to the motor shaft and liner plate is free on the hub. Normally, liner plate is gripped between two discs with the help of spring pressure. When current is supplied to the brake, one disc is attracted by electromagnet against spring pressure and the liner plate is released. Thus, the brake is OFF. Once the brake is set it does not require adjustment or maintenance. When the liner plate wears with the use, then only air gap is required to be maintained periodically. Arrangement to release the brake manually is also provided.

Spring loaded failsafe disc brakes, AC operated, DAT model/type 

These Failsafe spring loaded disc brakes is normally ON type and operates on AC supply. Foundation is not necessary as they are mounted directly on the non-driving end shaft of the motor. It consists of friction brake disc plate with liner on its both side with square bore/hole at the centre. One corresponding piece of square hub is supplied with the brake. This hub is keyed to the motor shaft and liner plate is free on the hub. Normally, liner plate is gripped between two discs with the help of spring pressure. 

When current is supplied to the brake, one disc is attracted by electromagnet against spring pressure and the liner plate is released. Thus, the brake is OFF. Once the brake is set it does not require adjustment or maintenance. When the liner plate wears with the use, then only air gap is required to be maintained periodically. Arrangement to release the brake manually is also provided.

EH-series brake rectifier is used to supply DC voltage to DC operated brakes on electric motors, where standard release reaction time of the brake is required. 

The primary application of rectifiers is to derive DC power from an AC supply. This rectifier having capacitor & spark suppressor to protect the diode bridge circuit. Spark suppressor protects the coil and contact against impermissibly high induced voltages during DC switching. In the absence of a suppressor circuit, the induced voltage may exceed the permissible values and cause coil failure. 

Rectifiers are available with half wave and full wave rectification. Rectifier can produce normal excitation and over excitation. These rectifiers are compact in size & easy to mount in terminal box or in control panel. Spring operated cable reeling drums helps supply power to machines such as Cranes, hoists, travelling trolley and are suitable for both A.C. & D.C. applications. 

These drums wind and unwind cable on the drum and are used in horizontal and vertical operations in applications such as EOT Cranes, Overhead Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Lifting Magnets, Moving machines, Travelling trolley, Stacker, Reclaimer etc. 

The springs used in these drums are of high quality spring steel material (EN-42J). 
The power slip rings are designed for 600 V.A.C. 

Note: Cable is not supplied along with cable reeling drum and the same is buyer’s scope. 

Sprocket Driven Cable Reeling Drums are suitable for avoiding tension on the cable. Unlike spring operated or motorised Cable reeling drum, a drive mechanism is required to drive the Sprocket Driven Cable reeling drum. 

Sprocket Driven Cable reeling drum are recommended for single cable layer winding of cables on the drum. These drums are used in vertical operation such as Lifting Magnet. 

Applications: 

HORIZONTAL RECOVERY: 
The cable winding or unwinding is done by End Feed or Centre Feed. 

In the End Feed type, the Cable reeling drum is mounted on the moving machine and the reel recovers the cable laid on the ground. Here the machine travel is equal to the capacity of the reel. 

In the Centre Feed type, the machine travels on both sides of the fixed point, where a Turnover Anchor is installed. This arrangement provides travel equal to twice the capacity of the reel. 

VERTICAL RECOVERY: 
In this type also the reel is machine mounted and the biggest advantage of this type is that it does not have to pull the weight of the cable since, in this case the complete weight of the cable is felt at the fixed point. 

HORIZONTAL CATENARY: 
In this type of arrangement. the cable is not laid on the ground but is suspended in the air due to the tension of the spring. 

VERTICAL PULL: 
Here the reel is mounted on a fixed structure and has'' to overcome the weight of the hose. The length of travel is equivalent to the capacity of the reel.

Resistance boxes are used to add resistance in to an electric motor circuit for modifying the performance characteristic of slipring induction motors of EOT cranes, rubber mills, steel rolling mills, cement mills, power plants, conveyors, coke oven, blowers etc for speed control and developing staring torque with low starting currents. 

They are also used as Dynamic breaking resistor for V.V.V.F.A.C. Drives electric loading of ac alternators, de generators and dynamometers. Resistors are designed to meet requirements of both A.C. and D.C. Applications. 

The basic types of resistors are: Punched Steel Resistors. (Stainless Steel / Fecral) 

The system of cooling the resistors are of two types: One is Air cooled type and the other is Oil cooled type.

Flexible Roll Brake lining COMPO WA 8 solid woven, asbestos based friction material made from asbestos yarn, spun around brass wire, which contributes considerably to its strength. WA-8 has a medium/high co-efficient of friction combined with moderate temperature and wear resistance. WA-8 is available in Roll form. Segments, Cones and special shapes can easily be cut from it. Being a flexible material, it is possible to form it to radius when fitting it. Forming can be made easier by placing the material in an oven at a temperature of not more than100°C (212°F) until it has heated throughout to soften the impregnant. WA-8 is designed solely for use under dry conditions (i.e. it is not suitable for use in oil). WA-8 can also be supplied with both surfaces ground. 

Recommended Mating Surface:
Good quality fine grained pearlitic cast .iron. Cast steel is not a suitable mating surface but forged or cold rolled steel with a Brinell hardness of 200 or more may be used.

Solid State Rectifier Brake Rectifier / Power converter EH Series 

EH-series brake rectifier is used to supply DC voltage to DC operated brakes on electric motors, where standard release reaction time of the brake is required. 

The primary application of rectifiers is to derive DC power from an AC supply. This rectifier having capacitor & spark suppressor to protect the diode bridge circuit. Spark suppressor protects the coil and contact against impermissibly high induced voltages during DC switching. In the absence of a suppressor circuit, the induced voltage may exceed the permissible values and cause coil failure. 

Rectifiers are available with half wave and full wave rectification. Rectifier can produce normal excitation and over excitation. These rectifiers are compact in size & easy to mount in terminal box or in control panel. Rectifier available with over excitation is used specifically with large DC coils for crane/Hoist brake application. This rectifier mainly used for spring applied electromagnetic brake.
