Rotor resistance start |
When three phase potential is applied to the stator winding a rotating magnetic field will travel around the inside of the stator core in indentically the same manner as in a squirrel cage induction Motor. The speed of the rotating magnetic field is dependent on the number of stator poles and the frequency of the supply source.
This synchronous speed is found using the formula S = 120F ÷ P.
As the rotating field travels at synchronous speed, it cuts the wound rotor winding and induces voltages in these winding.
On starting, all the resistance of Rotor resistance starter is inserted in the circuit. With the increase in resistance in the Rotor circuit the impedance increases and therefore it might appear as though the rotor current would be less with the a resultant decrease in torque. This results in maximum interaction between the two field and a strong starting torque.
As the motor accelerated, steps of resistance are cut out of the Rotor resistance starter controller with all resistance cut out, the rotor slip ring are short circuited and the motor operate at rated speed in the same manner as a squirrel cage induction Motor.

"MOTCO" Alternators Specially designed, self-excited /separately-excited and self-regulated in screen protected drip-proof enclosure, available in Single Phase (230V/50HZ) and Three Phase (440V/50HZ) at 1500/3000 RPM, Manufactured under strict quality control, Specially designed heavy-duty with low temperature rise , better air circulation and greater efficiency with + / - 5% Voltage regulation.
Generators are of drip-proof with rotary field type and adopt harmonic excitation system, easy operation and maintenance.

Generators are three-phase, four-wire type, adopting star connection with neutral point. The rated line voltage is 400V, phase voltage 230V, frequency 50Hz. power factor 0.8(lag). We can provide 60Hz and the other voltage's generator according to the customer's request.
They can be coupled with a prime mover directly or through v-belt making right or reverse continuous rotation at the rated speed. When the rotation speed of prime mover changes 3% or so and load varies in the range of 0~100% cos j 0.8~1.0, the generators offer constant voltage, when sudden change (increase or decrease) of load, the generator will soon return to their normal working state, at the same time, without any starting device the generator can directly start an unloaded squirrel cage induction motor.

Specially designed, self-excited /separately-excited and self-regulated in screen protected drip-proof enclosure, available in Single Phase and Three Phase output at 1500 RPM, Manufactured under strict quality control, Specially designed heavy-duty with low temperature rise , Copper graphite carbon brushes, better air circulation and greater efficiency with + / - 5% Voltage regulation.

A separate exciter motor can also be coupled to adjust the excitation of the Generator under loaded conditions to maintain the output voltage to the desired value.
