Spiral Wound Finned Tube

Fins are basically external surfaces on tube for increasing the surface area of the bare tube, resulting in a compact Heat Exchanger.

The method of attaching the fins over tube is of prime importance, since even a slightest air gap between the tube and fins will defeat the whole purpose of fins over the tube.

Considering the above facts Heft has indigenously designed and developed a special purpose tube fining machine capable of producing following types of finned tubes.

HEFT was formed in 1994 to provide the service to petrochemicals, power generation, chemicals, pharmaceuticals industries with high quality HELICAL WOUND FINNED HEAT EXCHANGERS tubing used in the maintenance and manufacture of the air cooled heat exchangers, air heaters & other related heat exchangers.

Finned tubes are able to even out the heat transfer between the inside of the tube and the outside. When the heat transfer coefficient on the outside of the tube is significantly lower than the heat transfer coefficient on the inside of the tube, there is a major advantage to incorporate fins on the outside tube surface to take full advantage of the high heat transfer rate on the inside of the tube.

By using a finned tube with eight times as much surface on the outside of the tube, the total length of the tube required for heating the viscous oil can be reduced by one sixth, Fins are basically external surface on tube for increasing the surface area of the bare tube, resulting in a compact heat exchanger.

Air Cooled Heat Exchanger

Available in 'G', 'L' plain & crimped configuration. The finned tubes can be assembled to performance requirement of your specific application. Typical industrial application where HEFT AIR COOLED HEAT EXCHANGERS are in operation.

Wire Wound Finned Tube

Wire wound fin tube consists of a base tube with oval or near rectangular loops formed of wire which are wound helically over the tube with root soldering of foot of every loop to the tube. - The loop of wire creates greater turbulence thereby increasing the heat transfer coefficient. Root soldering along the entire length eliminates almost all air gaps between the fin and the tube. - For most applications, wire wound fin tubes make it possible to design a much compact heat exchanger coupled with lower pressure drop compared to conventional fin tube Wire wound finned tube with fixed solder bonded or flexible turbulator enables the design of a highly compact heat exchanger unit compared to other conventional fin tube in identical working condition. L Type Finned Tubes

The L type fin is commonly known as L fin. This finned tube is basically identical to the Wrap-On fin and produced with a combination of Wrap-On and Embedded.The fins are manufactured from strip which is preformed into an accurately controlled L shape similar to the L type, rolled into a taper which causes it to curl. It is then continuously helically wound under tension onto the tube. The fin hugs the tube. The base tube is knurled by a rotating tool, then the foot of the fin is knurled into the knurling of the base tube providing a tight bond with increased thermal performance. Providing the correct fin strip is used the foot of one fin butts up against the next fin and there is no gap between the fins. This gives some corrosion protection to the tube. The fins are secured at each end to prevent unwinding in a similar way as L fins. KL -Foot tension wound finned tubes are commonly used in applications with metal Maximum Operating Temperature- up to 320°C (608°F)
